Coming to Saint Louis, I definitely thought the only music they had were your Nelly’s, Chingy’s, and your garden variety underground rap artist. Not to say that any of those are bad, I just didn’t come here expecting to discover anything out of the ordinary. Well last night in a voyage around the city, I heard a song called “Girlz” by Bradd Young that had me scouring the internet to download it. After finally finding out it was Bradd Young and not Brad Young, I realized Mr. Young is kinda a big deal.
Saint Louis native Bradd Young is one half of the production duo “Pretty Boy and Bradd Young” who have worked with the likes of Akon, Nelly, Kelly Rowland, Bone Thugs & Harmony, Jibbs, Maino, Tyra B, Yo Gotti, Teddy Riley & Talib Kweli. Along with producing tracks for others, Bradd is doing his solo thing with the new single “Girlz” which also features an artist from his label, RockHouse Entertainment, by the name of Vega. The track definitely has some T-Pain influence (no autotune), but hopefully can be a good start for Bradd’s career as an artist.
